Contemporary Art Space & Artist Residency

We're a dedicated community for abstract expressionist artists in the United States. lightvector LLC brings together working artists, emerging creators, and established practitioners in a collaborative environment built around making art and pushing creative boundaries.

What we do is straightforward: we exhibit large-scale work, host openings where people actually show up and engage with the art, run a rigorous twelve-week residency program, and publish a quarterly catalogue that documents what's happening in our space and beyond.

Working Studios & Exhibition Venues

Our physical spaces are built for serious work. We've got twelve individual studio units where residents can paint, sculpt, experiment with mixed media, or develop whatever practice brought them to us. Each studio is fully equipped with materials, ventilation, and natural light — the kind of setup that actually supports the work, not just the idea of it.

Beyond the studios, we maintain a 3,000-square-foot exhibition gallery with professional lighting and climate control. The gallery hosts monthly opening receptions where collectors, critics, fellow artists, and curious people from the community come together. These aren't quiet viewings. They're conversations about art that actually matter.

Our wall space rotates between resident work, established artists we're bringing in, and thematic group exhibitions. We don't gatekeep. If you're serious about making art, we're interested in showing it.

What Happens Here

lightvector LLC operates on a structured calendar that keeps momentum going year-round. We're not a gallery that sits empty between shows.

Monthly Openings

First Friday of every month. We host evening receptions with wine, conversation, and actual engagement with the work. These aren't stuffy. They're where community happens.

Residency Program

Twelve-week intensive. Artists get studio space, stipend support, peer critique sessions, and exhibition opportunity. We accept six residents per cycle and take the program seriously.

Quarterly Catalogue

Published online and in print. Features resident work, exhibition reviews, artist interviews, and documentation of what's happening in abstract expressionism right now.

The Twelve-Week Residency

Artist actively working on abstract expressionist canvas in studio space

This isn't a retreat or a workshop. It's a working residency designed for artists who need dedicated time, space, and peer engagement to develop serious work. We've structured it around what actually helps artists make better art.

Each resident gets a private studio, materials budget, and weekly critique sessions with the other residents and visiting artists. You're not isolated. You're in conversation with people pushing the same boundaries you are. We also arrange studio visits from curators and collectors, but that's not the point. The point is the work you make while you're here.

Residents exhibit their work during the final month of the program. We don't guarantee sales or representation, but we guarantee serious exhibition and genuine engagement with the work you've made.

Why This Matters

Abstract expressionism isn't dead. It's evolving. We're here to support that evolution.

lightvector LLC exists because serious abstract work deserves serious infrastructure. Not galleries that prioritize market trends. Not spaces that confuse commerce with culture. We believe in direct support for artists making work that pushes what's possible with paint, canvas, and mixed media. The art world changes when artists have time, space, and community to do their best thinking. That's what we're building.

What Guides Our Work

Artistic Integrity

We don't curate by market demand or trend. We support work that's authentic, ambitious, and pushing something forward. That's the only filter that matters.

Community Over Hierarchy

Residents aren't applicants waiting for approval. They're peers in a working community. Critique is real, support is genuine, and everyone's learning together.

Experimentation First

We encourage risk-taking. Failed experiments are part of the process. The studio isn't a place to play it safe or repeat what worked before.

Transparent Discourse

Through our quarterly catalogue and monthly programming, we document and share what's happening here. We believe in open conversation about contemporary abstract work.
